Job summary

Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania in Morgantown, WV is seeking a Retail Transportation Supervisor to oversee transportation and distribution of donated and purchased merchandise across Pennsylvania and North Central West Virginia.

Lead logistics staff, plan work assignments and equipment, ensure safety and policy compliance, review orders and shipping records, and assist with hiring and coaching of employees. Travel is required; pay range is $21.00–$25.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 4+ years in logistics or warehousing.
• Associates degree plus 2+ years in operations or distribution preferred.
• Experience in supervision and people development is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan work assignments and equipment allocations to meet transportation and production goals.
• Direct and supervise employees including task assignments.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge and compliance with organization policies.
• Review material orders, schedules, shipping and receiving records to determine workflow.

This position is responsible for supervising all aspects of the Retail Transportation System in both Pennsylvania and North Central West Virginia by assisting District Managers and Store Manages with transportation and distribution of donated and purchased merchandise by insuring proper and timely pick-up and delivery of materials. Provide leadership and direction to staff and assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to promote and maintain safety.

Duties will also include but are not limited to:

• Plan work assignments and equipment allocations to meet transportation, operations and production goals.
• Direct and supervise employees including assignment of employees to specific tasks, as needed.
• Maintain a current and up-to-date understanding of and comply with all organization policies and procedures.
• Review material orders, production schedules, shipping and receiving records and forms to determine workflow requirements, shipping dates, and destinations.
• Assist with the hiring, training, evaluation, coaching, and the support of the development of employees in logistics operations.

Travel Required: Yes, some travel may be required.

External Hiring Range: $21.00-$25.00/hour

Qualifications:

• High School diploma/equivalent with 4+ years of experience
• Associates Degree with 2+ years of experience
  • Experience can be a combination of operations management specific to warehousing or distribution, inventory management specific to supply chain or retail stores, or process optimization in any organizational operational role. Supervisory experience is highly preferred.
