Responsibilities

• Actively observe and promote Big Tex safety standards.
• Ensure employees follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
• Move trailers from staging area without causing damage.
• Assist with loading of parts orders and related loading processes.
• Coordinate shipments with freight carriers and forecast shipments to sales and production.
• Process shipping paperwork with accounting and freight carriers.
• Develop and follow leader standard work to complete daily tasks.
• Continuously improve production processes using Lean Principles for safety and efficiency.
• Be involved in hiring, evaluation, and coaching for department employees.
• Foster fair and respectful relationships with staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Coordinate loads of trucks with accurate trailer shipments and other parts while maintaining a safe work environment for all department employees. *This job is a combination of indoor and outdoor work regardless of weather conditions. Overtime is a requirement.

Essential Duties

• Actively observe and promote Big Tex safety standards
• Ensure employees follow all appropriate safety procedures and have all necessary PPE to perform their role in a safe manner
• Move trailers from staging area without damage
• Stack & load trailers according to load sheetAssist with parts orders loading process
• Verify shipment for accuracy
• Build shipping blocks and dunnage
• Open and close the shipping office
• Continually communicate with sales and production to forecast shipments
• Coordinate and arrange shipments with freight carriers.
• Process related shipping paperwork with accounting and freight carriers.
• Develop and follow leader standard work to ensure completion of all daily tasks
• Continuously improve production processes to increase safety, quality, and efficiency performance through implementation of Lean Principles
• Be actively involved in the hiring, evaluation, and coaching processes for department employees
• Foster a healthy relationship with employees by treating them fairly and with respect
• Perform other duties as assigned
