Job summary

Colson Group is seeking a QA leader for its distribution center to guide the onsite quality team, ensure receiving, storage, and release meet precise standards, and partner with the Director of Quality, USA to validate production quality.

You will prepare core quality documents (PPAP, FMEA, PFMEA), support QMS matters, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining audit readiness and CAPA processes.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a Quality role within manufacturing or distribution.
• Experience leading a QA team and driving compliance.
• Familiar with PPAP, FMEA, PFMEA and ISO QMS processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily activities of the onsite Quality team and align with SIPs and SOPs.
• Coach and elevate QA practices and develop concession paths for customer service and compliance.
• Be the primary contact for distribution center quality issues and support audits.

About the roleYou’re the quality champion for our distribution center’s caster product portfolio. Each day you’ll guide a local Quality team, ensuring that what we receive, store, and release meets exacting standards. You’ll partner closely with the Director of Quality, USA, to validate production quality and provide responsive product support across the operation. Quality is fundamental to everything we do, and you’ll help make that standard visible in every decision.ReportingReports to: DC Supervisor or DesigneeKey partner: Director of Quality, USAWhat you’ll doLead daily activities of the onsite Quality team, keeping work aligned to SIPs and SOPs while optimizing receiving inspection throughput and accuracy.Build team capability: coach, standardize, and elevate QA practices; develop concession paths that protect customer service without compromising compliance.Serve as the primary point of contact for Distribution Center operations quality issues.Prepare and support core quality documentation, including PPAP, FMEA, and PFMEA.Assist the Management Representative on QMS matters and during facility audits.Create, update, and manage the DC Operations Risk, Opportunity, and Continuous Improvement Matrix annually.Advance QMS processes: maintain SOPs under the direction of the Director of Quality, USA; generate metrics and trends to drive sustained performance improvement and compliance with applicable standards.Oversee and verify the effectiveness of key systems: complaint management and investigations; nonconformance (Quality Incidence); CAPA (8D); deviations; batch record review and product release; equipment calibration and maintenance; document control and record retention.Support internal auditing activities and contribute to audit readiness.Troubleshoot product and process issues, balancing business needs with compliance requirements.Implement Colson Group quality procedures within the DC and develop additional local procedures when needed.Resolve cross-functional issues collaboratively to maintain flow and quality.Support ISO Management Reviews twice per year.Perform related duties as assigned and adhere to all Colson Group policies and procedures.What you bringEducation: High School Diploma (required); Associate or Bachelor’s in a related field (preferred).Experience: 2+ years in a Quality role within manufacturing or a distribution center.Communication: Clear, concise communicator in both group and one-on-one settings.Multitasking: Proven ability to manage competing priorities effectively.Systems: ERP experience (Epicor preferred); strong Microsoft Office skills.Documentation: Proficiency in authoring reports and procedures (PPAPs, Corrective Action Reports, etc.).Problem solving: Skilled with 5 Why root cause analysis and familiar with AS9100 Quality Systems.Change leadership: Able to facilitate improvements and lead positive change initiatives.Organization: Strong planner with the ability to prioritize personal and team goals.Proficiencies5 Why (Root Cause Analysis Method)AS9100 Quality SystemsExcellent Communication SkillsSafety-sensitive noticeThis position is a safety-sensitive position.
