Tyson Foods is hiring for a 2nd shift position in a meat processing facility. The role involves moving combos and pallets using an electric pallet jack, weighing loads, and scanning items with a hand-held device.
The candidate must be able to work independently, follow safety rules, and participate in team goals. High school diploma preferred, pallet jack certification required, and overtime may be required.
Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson Foods will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 90 days and are limited to 3 times of employment.
Pay is: $20.40 per hour
This position is required to obtain a pallet jack operators certification and is responsible for moving combos and pallets full of product and/or material within the plant.
Transport and stack combos and or pallets using an electric pallet jack
Weigh the combos containing product
Scan bar codes with hand-held scanner
Fill out trailer audit forms
Reconcile Bill of Ladings/Inventory
Load trailers
Other duties as assigned
Ability to operate equipment safely and effectively
Ability to work efficiently at a fast pace; meeting production speed requirements
Required to become a certified pallet jack operator and master operation of the hand-held scanner
Must be able to work independently and make decisions
Willingness to function as part of a team and work toward team goals
Eagerness to learn new ideas
Preparedness to assist in other areas of production and work overtime as required
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience in a meat processing facility preferred
Experience operating an electric pallet jack preferred
Rarely (0-1 hrs.): kneel, crawl, squat, crouch,
Frequently (3-6 hrs.): climb or work at unprotected heights (step up onto riding pallet jack), lift/carry (up to 45 lbs.), push/pull (up to 100 lbs.), balance, reaching at shoulder height or slightly above, bend/stoop
Continuously (6-8 hrs.): stand/walk, simple/firm grasping, fine manipulation/triggering and keyboarding, twist/turn, work around moving machinery,work in temperatures just above freezing, around and amongst some poultry odor and blood as well as chemical fumes, talk and hear, use 20/20 vision with or without corrective lenses
