Job summary

Electra Grid Solutions LLC in Chattanooga, TN seeks a Distribution Overhead Groundman to support the construction, maintenance, and repair of overhead power lines. Working under a Foreman, you will help with material handling and site preparation to keep field operations safe and efficient.

This role requires reliability, safety focus, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and travel to different job sites. Overtime, nights, and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A preferred; must obtain within 90 days of hire if not held.
• Must pass drug screening, alcohol test, background check, clearinghouse, and MVR check.
• Willingness to travel long distances on short notice.
• Available to work in remote locations and for extended periods.
• Able to perform duties in all types of weather, including extreme heat, cold, and inclement conditions.
• Willing and able to work overtime, including nights and weekends, as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual tasks related to overhead power line construction and maintenance.
• Dig trenches, set poles, install wires and transformers.
• Assist linemen with elevated tasks and equipment handling.
• Assemble and stage materials on the ground; hoist tools and supplies using handlines.
• Fill pole holes and trenches using hand tools such as shovels and tampers.
• Flag traffic and support job site setup and safety compliance.
• Maintain organization of tools and materials on service vehicles.
• Clean and organize job sites upon work completion to ensure safety and readiness for inspection.
• Follow all company safety protocols and participate in safety training.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Job Summary

The Private Utility Distribution Overhead Groundman plays a vital role in supporting the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead power lines and related equipment. Working under the supervision of a Foreman and alongside a skilled crew, this position ensures safe and efficient field operations through hands‑on support, material handling, and site preparation. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and eager to contribute to utility infrastructure projects in dynamic outdoor environments.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
