Job summary

Nippon Sanso Matheson, Brookhaven, MS, is seeking a Distribution Manager to oversee all cylinder movement into and out of the facility and lead distribution planning. This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant distribution operations while supporting on-time delivery commitments to internal and external customers.

The position reports directly to the Hub Plant Manager. The Distribution Manager will manage fleet maintenance, staffing, regulatory documentation, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Experience in cylinder operations and distribution management.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
• Knowledge of CFR, OSHA, EPA, DOT regulations.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in manufacturing of industrial, medical, or specialty gases.

Responsibilities

• Oversee distribution function within the branch, operating within established policies and standards.
• Translate divisional goals into clear operational objectives, work assignments, and short-term plans.
• Oversee staffing levels, workflow, fleet operations, compliance, and inventory planning.
• Impact departmental operating budgets and supervise distribution personnel.
• Oversee vehicle fleet maintenance, inspections, and registration requirements.
• Share responsibility for Site Surveys to ensure safe delivery for new customers.
• Schedule workforce hours for all Distribution personnel; overtime requires Branch Manager approval.
• Maintain all required DOT documentation and driver qualification files.
• Perform observations and ride-alongs with drivers to evaluate skills.
• Ensure safe operations across all distribution areas, including proper shutdown procedures.
• Maintain effective communication with Management Team members, internal partners, and external customers.
• Support Lean/Six Sigma continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Strongorganizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Workingknowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements (CFR, OSHA,EPA, SAHRA, DOT).
• Experience in specialty, medical, or industrial cylinder operations.
• Background in manufacturing of industrial, medical, or specialty gases,including pure gases and gas blends; experience with hydrocarbons or similarindustries is beneficial.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma principles.
