Distribution Manager
JOB SUMMARY

The Distribution Manager oversees all cylinder movement into and out of the facility and leads all distribution planning. This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant distribution operations while supporting on-time delivery commitments to internal and external customers. The position reports directly to the Hub Plant Manager.

Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000

JOB SUMMARY

Ensure operations are carried out in a manner that safety is evident in everything we do.

Responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient delivery of dry ice by assuring qualified drivers and equipment are available to implement the daily schedule

Hires Drivers to ensure regulatory compliance with all FDA, DOT, and other Government requirements, as well as compliance with all Company policies and procedures.

Completes all training required to fulfill the position of distribution manager.

Understand the distribution managers' role and function in implementing all company policies and procedures.

Monitor training needs of employees and assure that the training is delivered on-time.

Responsible for administering and/or verifying that the employee has successfully completed the Qualification related to any specific training requirement.

Ensures investigation of any vehicle accident or employee injury and initiation of appropriate corrective and preventive actions.

Ensures 3rd party maintenance providers/vendors are maintaining equipment and controlling costs by scheduling preventative maintenance to ensure maximum utilization, maximum life expectancy and safe operation.

Works with carriers or brokers, as necessary, to ensure safe, timely, and efficient delivery of our products.

Works with customers, sales, and service to ensure safe and efficient access to customers and to support all sales activities related to distribution.

Provides Scheduling Center with all necessary information needed to compile an efficient schedule

Must maintain detailed records of service, inspection, and vehicle reports

Utilize and maintain all computer based tools.

Ensure maintenance and utilization of On-board Computers and Drive Cams.

On-call after normal working hours, due to the 24-hour distribution network

Essential Functions
  • Promote a "zero" vehicle accident/injury frequency rate, Conduct monthly safety meetings
  • Ensure total compliance with all safety regulations and guidelines both on company property and off-site while performing work
  • Ensure that all operations are performed with regard to the safety and health of all personnel
  • Maintain and/or supervise the maintenance of all records of daily operation with regard to employee information, DOT and FDA regulations, service reports, vehicle maintenance and inspection reports, driver logs and hours to meet company, state and federal regulations for safety and documentation.
  • Takes responsibility to ensure that location meets or exceeds operational goals and objectives
  • Monitors and insures that the location budget is not exceeded
  • Decisions involve translating the Company goals and objectives into unit objectives, defined work assignments and projects; conducting and implementing actions; and short-term planning.
  • Responsible for the hiring, staffing and training of quality, safe personnel for receiving and shipping products

QUALIFICATIONS
Education

High School Graduate HighSchool Diploma Required

Associate's Degree Preferred

Work Experience

4-6 years Practicalexperience in transportation - trucking operations is required

4-6 years Excellent organizational andsupervisory skills. especially with truck drivers is required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Good mechanical aptitude - understanding of vehiclemaintenance

Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft products

Knowledge of on-board computers and drive cams helpful

Thorough knowledge of all FDA, DOT, and cGMP rules andregulations
