Job summary

Grimco is seeking a Distribution Manager to lead a warehouse team, drive operational excellence, and deliver accurate order fulfillment. The role involves recruiting and developing staff, managing daily operations, and tracking KPIs with Power BI to boost efficiency and quality.

• College degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Six Sigma Certification is a plus.
• Ability to travel to multiple states for training.
• Ability to pass a criminal background screening.
• Physical ability to perform lifting and warehouse duties as described in the job postings.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and mentor warehouse staff, leads, and support personnel; conduct evaluations and performance management.
• Oversee recruitment and onboarding to build a skilled team.
• Direct daily warehouse operations to ensure efficient workflow, timely order fulfillment, and safety and quality.
• Track KPIs using Power BI dashboards and implement efficiency improvements.
• Manage inventory control, cycle counts, locations, and documentation; oversee QA.
• Enforce safety protocols, certifications, and regulatory compliance; maintain equipment and safety supplies.
• Supervise facility upkeep and equipment maintenance to keep assets operational.
• Collaborate cross-functionally and provide operational reports to senior management.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives.

Job Description

• Supervise & Develop Team: Lead, train, and mento warehouse associates, leads, and support staff. Conduct performance evaluations, manage compensation, and implement performance improvement plans when necessary.
• Recruitment & Onboarding: Oversee hiring and onboarding processes to build a skilled and motivated team.
• Daily Operations Management: Direct warehouse activities to ensure efficient workflow, timely order fulfillment, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Performance & Metrics Optimizations: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, accuracy, and quality using Power BI dashboards. Implement strategies to improve efficiency.
• Inventory Control & Quality Assurance: Manage cycle counts, optimize inventory locations, and ensure accurate documentation of inventory movements. Oversee quality control to maintain high accuracy and customer satisfaction.
• Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety protocols, maintain the required safety certifications and ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Oversee proper maintenance of material handling equipment and safety supplies.
• Facility & Equipment Maintenance: Supervise facility upkeep, equipment repairs, and ensure all warehouse assets remain operational.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Maintain strong communication with internal departments, respond to customer needs, and provide operational reports to senior management.
• Process Improvement & Strategic Initiatives: Identify opportunities for operational enhancements and develop action plans to drive continuous improvement. Participate in company-wide initiatives and special projects.

Qualifications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5 – 10 years management experience in Distribution environment.
• College degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Six Sigma Certification is a plus!
• Ability to travel to multiple states for training.
• Ability to compete and pass a criminal background screening.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Requires the ability to lift, push, pull and carry tools and warehouse materials weighing 70+ pounds on a frequent basis.
• Requires prolonged standing or walking, frequent bending, stooping, and reaching daily.
• Requires the ability to climb ladders to pick or put away products.
• Requires a full range of physical motion to operate manual and electrically powered tools and machines (i.e., forklift)
