Job summary

UCEMC is seeking a Distribution Engineer in Carthage, TN. The role supports engineering initiatives to strengthen the electric distribution system and long-range goals, including GIS mapping, SCADA, outage management, metering, and smart grid improvements.

Office and field work with a focus on reliability and data-driven planning. The position requires a BS in engineering, power engineering preferred, with CAD/ESRI GIS skills and a PE designation desired.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited).
Power Engineering major or electric utility experience preferred.
Two years electrical experience, preferably in an electric cooperative.
P.E. designation desired.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain the Cooperative GIS mapping and informational system.
Maintain SCADA, Outage Management, Meter and Smart Grid Systems, and Vehicle Tracking Systems.
Coordinate annual Construction Work Plans for electric system improvements.
Assist with staking and design of line extensions and other projects.
Support power restoration efforts to maintain reliability.
Conduct load studies and provide technical data for planning.
