Job summary

Pocket Nurse in the Greater Pittsburgh Region, PA, is hiring a DC Specialist II to support order fulfillment, receiving, inventory movement, and overall warehouse operations. You will safely operate powered industrial equipment, pick and pack orders, run cycle counts, and help maintain stock accuracy in a fast-paced healthcare supply environment.

  • High school diploma or GED with 2 years of Distribution Center experience or 4 years of post-secondary education and/or DC experience.
  • Industrial Equipment certification required; valid Driver’s License mandatory.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work both independently and with a team.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency with warehouse management systems and shipping software preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately picks customer orders using RF scanning technology.
  • Verifies product accuracy and prepares packs for shipment.
  • Safely operates powered industrial equipment (forklifts, reach trucks, order pickers, EPJs, Bendi forklifts).
  • Receives and stores inbound merchandise; conducts cycle counts and maintains inventory accuracy.
  • Maintains clean, safe work environment and adheres to OSHA and PPE requirements.

The Distribution Center (DC) Specialist II is a cross‑trained warehouse professional who supports all aspects of DC operations. This role is primarily responsible for safely operating powered industrial equipment to move inventory while supporting order fulfillment, receiving, inventory accuracy, and overall warehouse operations. Team members are expected to contribute where needed based on customer demand and business priorities.

Success in this role requires attention to detail, accountability, consistency, and the ability to follow standardized processes while working independently and collaboratively. Employees are expected to maintain high standards of safety, quality, productivity, and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities and other duties as assigned:
Order Fulfillment:
  • Accurately picks customer orders using RF scanning technology.
  • Verifies product accuracy and quantities, prepares, and packs orders for shipment.
  • Safely operates powered industrial equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, stock pickers, electric pallet jacks (EPJs), and Bendi forklifts, in accordance with company policies and training requirements.
  • Puts away received merchandise using established warehouse locations.
  • Replenishes primary pick locations to maintain product availability.
Inventory Movement & Accuracy:
  • Moves inventory throughout the DC to support organization and operational needs.
  • Performs assigned cycle counts, maintains accurate inventory placement, and reports discrepancies to appropriate personnel.
Receiving Support:
  • Assists with unloading inbound shipments and operating industrial equipment to transport inventory to designated areas.
  • Inspects incoming products for visible damage and accuracy while verifying received merchandise against shipping documentation.
  • Maintains professional working relationships with carriers and delivery drivers.
  • Supports the safe movement and storage of inbound inventory.
General Responsibilities:
  • Maintains dependable onsite attendance and punctuality.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment while complying with OSHA regulations and company safety policies including wearing required PPE.
  • Participates in assigned warehouse tasks, including cardboard bailer operation, industrial equipment battery watering, and other projects as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 2 years of relevant Distribution Center experience or a combination of 4 years of post-secondary education and/or relevant Distribution Center experience.

Skills and Experience:
  • Industrial Equipment certification will be required with a valid Driver’s License. Equipment includes but is not limited to a forklift, reach truck, order picker, and electric jack. Immediate notification of suspension or revocation of Driver’s License is mandatory.
  • Must be available to work Monday-Friday 7:00AM-3:30PM and overtime as required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, analytical capabilities, and collaboration skills.
  • Strong mathematical skills including ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems and Shipping Software preferred.
