WORK SCHEDULE

Overnight/Early Morning Hours - Full Time

Job Summary

This exempt position concentrates efforts in the training, evaluation and supervision of the distribution services staff at a specific Distribution Center location(s). Maintaining the appropriate application of company policies and procedures to ensure customer service and financial goals and objectives are met and/or exceeded is a primary area of responsibility.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Overall management of assigned Distribution Center(s).
  • Active management of daily operations to ensure quality service to customers.
  • Management of employees to ensure compliance with company policy and procedures.
  • overall management of staffing including recruiting and training of new employees.
  • Oversee training to employees in all phases of the distribution services operation.
  • Conduct and supervise regular evaluations for distribution staff.
  • Coordinate and provide safety training for distribution staff.
  • Review and approve all carrier compensation, payroll ledgers, and expense statements.
  • Able to identify problematic operational issues before they reach crisis stage.
  • Able to prioritize tasks assigned during crisis situations that may affect service to customers.
  • Able to evaluate distribution staff performance.
  • Ensures client’s subscriber complaints are resolved satisfactorily.
  • Able to complete analysis of service problems then create and implement service improvement plan.
  • Conducts regular analysis of Distribution Center expenses to find productivity improvements.
  • Oversee the process of contracting of Independent Contract Carriers, including the accurate completion of all documents as well as filing contracts securely.
  • Using automobile, visually verify delivery of newspapers and other products.

Other Functions

  • Experience and ability to train manager under his/her supervision
  • Have thorough knowledge of computer use
  • Extensive knowledge of geography and demographics of assigned area

Technical and Functional

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have thorough knowledge of the Independent Contractor Services Agreement
  • Computer knowledge including Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes
  • The ability to prioritize, manage and perform multiple tasks simultaneously

Required Physical Abilities

  • Able to lift and move 30-50 lbs of newspapers multiple times on a daily basis
  • The understanding that the focus of the Distribution Center is to meet and/or exceed the established customer service objectives
  • Able to operate an automobile
  • Must have reliable vehicle, valid driver's license in the state where residing, and automobile insurance at limits required by PCF
Working Environment & Requirements
  • Must be available to work weekends and overnight or early morning shifts as needed.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment with varying conditions.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar logistics, distribution, or warehouse setting.
  • Strong ability to work independently while ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all tasks.
