Job Summary

Responsible for directing all operation activities in a distribution center environment with approximately $150M or more in revenue. Supports the distribution network by managing redistribution activities of $20M or more in inventory. Focuses on operational excellence and process improvement initiatives, exceeding customer expectations, and talent acquisition, development, and retention of associates. Acts as a strategic partner with logistics and supply chain management to establish and adhere to operating budgets.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
  • Provides effective leadership to ensure efficient distribution operations, policy adherence, and process excellence. Ensures associate well-being through compliance with safety, Hazmat, legal, and HR policies.
  • Recruits, develops, and manages performance of direct and indirect reports.
  • Forecasts resource needs to maintain appropriate staffing levels, meeting service, financial, and operational goals.
  • Oversees carrier services and delivery processes, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Develops annual operating budgets aligned with financial goals and manages P&L, including cost justifications and ROI assessments.
  • Controls costs through process improvements, personnel productivity, space utilization, and inventory control, ensuring inventory accuracy and protection.
  • Promotes a safety and environmental culture by ensuring compliance with all EHS and Hazmat policies.
Nature and Scope
  • Requires analysis and investigation to develop solutions.
  • Achieves results through professional decision-making, business principles, and experience. May influence new programs with significant business impact.
  • Manages large or multiple teams through subordinate management or supervision.
Work Environment
  • Primarily indoors with occasional mild discomfort.
  • Mostly sitting, standing, walking, and handling moderate-weight materials (8-20 pounds).
  • Requires 5% to 20% overnight travel.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline typically required.
