Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Arvin, CA, is seeking a Distribution Center Manager for the 1st shift to lead 20–30 hourly staff in receiving, processing, packing, storage, and shipment of parts to dealers and regional centers.

You will drive safety, productivity, and cost controls while maintaining high service levels, payroll, attendance, and daily operations to support Caterpillar’s global customers.

Qualifications

• Effective communications, and ability to transmit, receive and interpret information clearly.
• Strong planning and organizing skills to manage tasks, time and resources.
• Experience with decision making and critical thinking to analyze situations.
• Knowledge of distribution center management and warehouse operations is desired.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate distribution center teams through coaching, training, and reinforcement to maintain a positive work environment.
• Drive operational excellence by resolving issues, improving processes, and enforcing productivity, quality, and service standards.
• Ensure safety and compliance by conducting daily safety meetings and mentoring staff.
• Oversee inventory and equipment management including receiving, processing, storage, and maintenance.
• Manage administrative tasks such as payroll and attendance to support service levels and costs.
• Participate in leadership on-call rotation and assist outside normal hours when needed.
• Maintain awareness of facility operations and communicate priorities and actions effectively.
