Job summary

Canada Malting is seeking a Distribution Center Associate in San Diego, CA to efficiently pick, wrap, and load daily orders and support shipping/receiving. The role follows HACCP and safety guidelines and involves operating forklifts and automated equipment while maintaining inventory accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal skills, team player and reliable teammate.
  • Able to lift 55 lbs repeatedly and move over distances.
  • Experience with rolling ladders and stand-up forklifts in a warehouse.
  • Willing to work overtime as needed.
  • Basic math and writing skills; fluent in English.
  • Basic computer skills; experience with warehouse software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate, timely completion of daily orders including picking, wrapping and loading.
  • Perform shipping and receiving tasks to maintain smooth operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness through light sanitation for a safe, organized environment.
  • Operate automated production equipment in compliance with guidelines.
  • Safely operate stand-up forklifts to transport materials.
  • Conduct inventory control to maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations to promote a secure workplace.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of daily orders, including picking, wrapping, and loading.
  • Perform shipping and receiving tasks to maintain seamless operations.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong interpersonal skills, self-starter, team player
  • Ability to comfortably lift and carry 55lbs multiple times per day, carry for distances of up to 100ft.
  • Ability to utilize rolling 8ft rolling ladders.
  • Ability to work occasional overtime.
  • Basic math and writing skills.
  • Functional business literacy in English.
  • Basic computer experience.
  • Passion for the craft brewing & malting industry is a plus.
  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • Previous warehouse experience preferred.
  • Warehouse Management or Inventory Control software system experience preferred.
  • Shipping and receiving knowledge are desirable.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Highly physical position, including walking, sitting, and standing in the warehouse environment.
