Job Profile Summary

At Academy Sports + Outdoors, our purpose is to make it easier for everyone to enjoy more sports and outdoors. The Distribution Center Maintenance Technician is responsible for the entire facility with a focus on maintenance of standard operating procedures, scheduled inspections, and troubleshooting various material handling systems and equipment. Through this important work, the Maintenance Technician II supports the Distribution Center in achieving Academy's purpose.

Work Experiences:

• 1+ years of general maintenance or related work experience, preferred
• Previous warehouse experience preferred
• Conveyor system experience preferred
• Current forklift certification preferred

Skills:

• Must have a "Safety First" mentality
• Inventory management, data entry, and basic computer skills required
• Good communication, organizational, time management, and mathematical skills
• Able to multi-task and work independently
• Ability to anticipate and make decisions under pressure

Physical Requirements & Attendance

Distribution Center Working Conditions:

• Routine exposures to heat, cold, moisture, and unpleasant air conditions
• Considerable physical exertion required
• Use of manual dexterity
• Regular standing, walking, and assuming awkward positions
• Repetitive use of keyboard
• Lift and carry 20-60 pounds frequently
• Work in mezzanines up to 50 feet high
• Work in a non-air-conditioned environment
• Maintain acceptable hearing and vision levels
• Adhere to work hours and policies

Other Requirements

This position may require a substance abuse screening and a Criminal Background Check.

Powered Industrial Truck Positions:

Requires operation of a Powered Industrial Truck with active PIT Certification from Academy for safety and compliance.
