Job summary

Empire Distributors, Inc. in Apex, NC is hiring an AM Warehouse Worker for the 7:00a–3:30p shift. You will receive stock, rotate inventory, operate forklift and order picker machines, and assist with inventories.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent
• 1–3 months related warehouse experience preferred
• Forklift certification is required or preferred depending on role

Responsibilities

• Receives stock and verifies accuracy of new product
• Rotates stock and restocks returned products
• Operates forklift and order picker machines
• Assists with quarterly inventories
• Reads schedules and orders to determine items to move and distribute
• Conveys materials between receiving, storage and shipping areas
• Sorts and stores materials by code and type
• Assembles customer orders and prepares parcels for mailing
• Maintains clean and safe work environment; performs janitorial duties as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned by Warehouse Manager

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Receives stock and verifies accuracy of new product
• Rotates stock.
• Restocks returned products.
• Operates forklift and order picker machines.
• Assists with quarterly inventories.
• Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Fills requisitions.
• Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
• Marks materials with identifying information.
• Opens boxes and other containers.
• Prepares parcels for mailing.
• Janitorial duties when required
• Other duties assigned by Warehouse Manager(s)

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
