Salary Range: $44,000.00 To $48,000.00 Annually

Position Overview

The Logistics & Distribution Analyst I supports and improves the end-to-end order-to-shipment lifecycle through strong data analysis, system expertise, operational problem solving, and cross-functional collaboration. The role monitors order flow, resolves daily exceptions, improves reporting and controls, and develops practical, data-supported solutions.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor ERP order flow, including release, allocation, shipment creation, load progression, fulfillment status, and invoicing readiness.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve daily and weekly reports covering order status, backlog, aging, inventory availability, shipment readiness, service performance, and process exceptions.
  • Use Excel, Power BI, ERP reporting tools, and approved data platforms to analyze high-volume transactional and operational data.
  • Build and improve reports, dashboards, and analytical tools that clarify performance, emerging risks, recurring issues, and improvement opportunities.
  • Reconcile ERP, warehouse, transportation, inventory, and reporting data to identify missing inventory, incorrect statuses, stuck transactions, duplicate records, shipment delays, and other disruptions.
  • Investigate exceptions using structured problem solving and root-cause analysis; develop recommendations and coordinate corrective action with the appropriate teams.
  • Own assigned issues through resolution by validating data, coordinating actions, tracking progress, and confirming the underlying issue is resolved.
  • Identify recurring trends and process gaps; recommend changes that reduce manual work, eliminate errors, and improve reliability and efficiency.
  • Develop repeatable exception-management routines, standard work, reporting processes, and controls.
  • Partner with Customer Service, Distribution, Warehouse Operations, Transportation, Inventory, Planning, Finance, IT, and other teams to improve execution and service.
  • Escalate appropriately after reasonable troubleshooting, with clear findings, likely root causes, business impact, and recommended actions.
  • Support continuous improvement, automation, documentation, compliance, safety, quality, and internal-control requirements.

Required Skills

  • Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency, including pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP or equivalent functions, SUMIFS, IF statements, filtering, sorting, conditional formatting, data validation, reconciliation, and large datasets.
  • Experience using Power BI or a comparable business-intelligence platform to analyze performance, investigate issues, identify trends, and communicate actionable insights.
  • Hands-on experience within an ERP environment such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle, or a comparable platform, with understanding of order, inventory, shipment, and status flows.
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to recognize anomalies and distinguish isolated errors from recurring or systemic issues.
  • Working knowledge of order management, inventory, warehousing, transportation, distribution, and shipment execution.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, strong cross-functional collaboration, attention to detail, prioritization, ownership, and follow-through in a fast-paced environment.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, operations, business, analytics, information systems, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant logistics, distribution, order management, transportation, inventory, business-analysis, or related operational experience required.
  • Operational ERP, Excel, and Power BI or comparable BI experience required.
  • Experience developing reports, dashboards, KPIs, exception tools, or process improvements strongly preferred.
  • Experience with transportation providers, brokers, carriers, WMS, TMS, or distribution centers is a plus.
