Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. in Virginia is seeking a Distribution Analyst to handle initial customer contacts for electric service installations, removals, and relocations within the Power Distribution Engineering team.

The role requires at least 2 years of customer relations and strong communication skills, with emphasis on accurate service orders, billing alignment, and teamwork across the project lifecycle. Local candidates in the Manassas area are encouraged to apply.

Overview

TRC is hiring a Distribution Analyst for our Phoenix, Manassas, Virginia USA. We will consider candidates that reside in the surrounding areas. This position will be working within our Power Distribution Engineering team and a part of our growing Power Sector.

Responsibilities
  • Responds and coordinates the initial contact with the customers requesting new electric service installation, removals, relocations, and processing electric service orders, and provides customer service in an effective and efficient manner, by resolving customer inquiries and/or complaints in a professional/courteous manner.
  • Processes electric permit orders, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Works with customer to acquire essential and necessary information for the service order requests (e.g. mainline extensions and/or secondary lies), and offers suggestions, ideas, and/or options to ensure customer receives information pertinent to their utility needs.
  • Sets up the service requests for new installations, removals, and relocations, utilizing and complying with all departmental processes and systems.
  • Provides, timely and accurate information to customers and the service delivery team on new service requests.
  • Provides support to other team members.
  • Monitors active projects to provide information to team and customers as to project status. Tracks and monitors refundable and non-refundable contracts.
  • May provide review, field checks and/or processing (paperwork) of existing contracts for line extensions.
  • May verify applicable/appropriate billing records and processing (e.g. monthly, quarterly, billing for phone/cable drops).
  • Collaborates with other team members to verify service order information to ensure billing accuracy.
  • May coordinate scheduling of (contractor) crews for new service delivery, outages, disconnect/reconnects, and opening of equipment and/or services.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years customer relations and Microsoft Suite platform experience is required.
  • Demonstrated communication skills to deal with internal/external clients.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to self-check work.
  • Experience in working with customers and contractors both in person and via phone.
  • Experience with appropriate standard workplace software tools (Microsoft Office).

Compensation

In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
