Join to apply for the Distribution Alternate Project Manager (DAPM) role at Amentum

This position shares responsibility for the performance of work and oversight of all contract matters related to the daily operations of this contract. The DAPM ensures all work requirements are met to provide professional and quality services to the Customer in accordance with Amentum leadership, international, US, DLA, PWS, industry standards, and safety priorities. The DAPM acts as the primary point of contact when the Distribution Project Manager is unavailable.

The role includes assisting the Distribution Project Manager with tracking, reporting, purchasing, and administrative duties. It requires some subject-matter knowledge and judgment to complete various steps under general supervision. The DAPM must be able to deploy globally within 48 hours in support of emerging requirements.

Additional responsibilities include:
  • Serving as the primary government point of contact when the Distribution Project Manager is unavailable.
  • Managing day-to-day execution and oversight.
  • Ensuring compliance, performance, and reporting requirements are met.
  • Overseeing scheduling, personnel, work supervision, and quality control.
  • Monitoring costs, financial reports, and budgets.
  • Recommending and implementing procedures to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Qualifications:
  • At least three years of experience in logistics or contingency operations management.
  • One year of supervisory experience, preferably in a government contract environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Valid US or local driver's license and US passport.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance (US citizenship required).
  • Ability to pass medical requirements and handle deployment conditions.
  • Country visa as required per U.S. Department of State guidelines.
Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience (five years in government or private sector work).
Other Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience supporting government contracts in an OCONUS environment.
  • Work experience with a multinational workforce.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks.
  • Strong analytical skills for metrics and process improvement.
Working and Living Conditions:

The position may involve typical office work or travel to harsh environments with extreme temperatures, requiring physical activities like lifting up to 40 pounds, climbing, crawling, and outdoor work.
