Job summary

Axis Communications is seeking a relationship-focused, organized sales professional to support our Distribution Account Manager team. You’ll help grow sales through the distribution channel, promote Axis products and solutions, and strengthen collaboration between Axis, our distribution partner, and local integrators.

You’ll travel roughly 50% of the year, deliver product training and demonstrations, coordinate with distributor and Axis regional sales teams, and help advance opportunities

Job Description

Axis Communications is looking for a relationship-focused, organized sales professional to support our Distribution Account Manager (DAM) team. In this role, you’ll help grow sales through the distribution channel, promote Axis products and solutions, and strengthen collaboration between Axis, our distribution partner, and local integrators.

You’ll support day-to-day account activities and sales enablement programs while building your knowledge of the distribution model and the security industry. This is a hands‑on opportunity for someone who enjoys working with customers, delivering presentations and training, and connecting sales teams to new opportunities.

Ideal candidate would be located in Chicago, Illinois or reside near a major US airport.

What You’ll Do

• Build relationships with Axis teams, the assigned distributor, and its network.
• Support distributor sales activities, AEC events, and local integrator engagement.
• Deliver product training, demonstrations, presentations, and lunch-and-learns on IP video and Axis solutions.
• Connect Axis regional sales teams with distributor sales teams to share pipeline updates and identify opportunities.
• Respond to customer inquiries and help with product recommendations and solution comparisons.
• Support distributor marketing plans and dedicated Axis resources, tracking results where applicable.
• Monitor competitors and share relevant market insights with sales and management.
• Coordinate meetings between Axis Business Area Directors and Wesco Distribution Regional Directors.
• Work with internal teams to implement sales enablement programs, resolve issues, and improve account processes.
• Take on other related duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

• Strong sales planning and execution skills.
• Clear, confident communication and presentation skills.
• The ability to learn technical product information and explain it to different audiences.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Strong follow-through, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• A customer‑focused approach and a talent for building productive relationships.
• Business acumen, strategic thinking, adaptability, teamwork, accountability, and a commitment to continued learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• At least two years of related work experience. Experience in outside field sales—especially in IT or security is preferred.

Helpful Experience

These qualifications are valued but not required:

• An established network in relevant industries.
• Five or more years of experience with distribution channels and models.
• Familiarity with IP video or physical security technology.

Target Salary

The approximate pay range for this position is $145,000 to $155,000 OTE. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual's qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as physical work location within the state.
