Provides accurate, timely desktop technical work installing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting computer systems for use by end-users including the hardware & software components to both Department and outside agency customers. Take on primary and secondary IT responsibilities within the IT department to support the team, staff, and clients at the FDOH. Coordinates work assignments with appropriate department staff as well as other FDOH staff. Performs necessary follow-ups with customers to ensure that requests are handled efficiently and that quality solutions are provided.
Recognizes and analyzes priority issues for escalation. Provides detailed information regarding the issues to effectively solve problems in a timely and organized manner using industry best practices and procedures. Maintains all assigned issues within the Department’s Cherwell Tracking System. Adds updates and provides status information to the Tracking System in a timely and accurate manner. Identifies and documents resolutions while sharing the documentation and findings with other team members.
Consults with regional, agency customers and various IT vendors in conducting system assessments to define customer needs, system requirements and LAN/WAN connectivity requirements.
Provides desktop support to customers regarding hardware and software troubleshooting. Lifts computers, monitors, printers, etc. (weighing up to 50 pounds) and transport them to installation sites around the County and within the FDOH sites and related facilities. Performs Asset Management Custodial duties in Asset Management System and Asset Panda.
Manages computer users in Active Directory (AD) in a timely manner creating, updating and deleting user accounts when changes in human resources occur. Maintains distribution lists and security groups in AD. Familiar and experience with Windows Group Policy Management. Sanitizes computer equipment for disposing of equipment through disposal process
Works together with local, county, and state IT teams maximizing the usage of technological resources including, but not limited to, SCCM imaging, computer hardware support, LAN and VoIP network support. The incumbent will also work on special IT projects as assigned by the Data Center Director. The incumbent may be required to perform some duties outside normal work hours or days to reduce interference with the health department's normal work day. Stays current with new technology. Performs related duties as required.
Provides support for hosted Voice Over IP (VoIP) phones and LAN/WAN connectivity troubleshooting to coordinate repairs with state and local support staff. Open and manage VoIP support tickets with MSP, Hayes.
Support client hardware/software upgrades and migrations as directed by the Data Center Director and maintain excellent communication with all FDOH staff, partners, and team members of the technology department.
Support and/or be responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, monitoring progress, and completing a wide range of IT projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. This can include the use of business analytics, effective communication, teamwork, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and resource management
