Verizon Global Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Enterprise SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) Architect to lead the design, development, and testing of our enterprise-wide SASE architecture. This role will play a crucial part in driving network transformation by integrating security and networking services into a unified, cloud-native framework. You will also work with implementation teams to implement Network and Security services like SASE/SSE products and best-in-class cloud-delivered Security Services. You will work with cutting-edge technology, driving vendor roadmap, and redefining the future of network security.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following...

  • Developing and defining the enterprise-wide SASE architecture, ensuring alignment with business and security objectives.

  • Leading the design and implementation of Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), Secure Web Gateway (SWG), Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB), Digital Loss Prevention (DLP) and public cloud security solutions.

  • Collaborating with security, networking, and cloud teams to integrate identity, access management, and security policies across the enterprise.

  • Defining technical standards, roadmaps, and best practices for SASE deployment, ensuring scalability and performance.

  • Building Low Level Design diagrams and be able to clearly communicate design goals with the implementation teams.

  • Providing architectural oversight for global network transformation initiatives, driving cloud adoption and edge security.

  • Evaluating and recommending SASE vendors and technologies, ensuring they meet enterprise security and networking requirements.

  • Partnering with IT leadership to align SASE strategies with business objectives and digital transformation goals.

  • Building strong vendor relationships so they clearly understand Verizon's requirements and drive these vendors to build or enhance feature/functionality to meet Verizon's needs.

  • Developing implementation plans and migration strategies, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

  • Leading proof-of-concepts (PoCs) and pilot projects to validate SASE solutions and capabilities.

  • Providing technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to engineering teams and stakeholders.

  • Keeping abreast on emerging security vulnerabilities, exploits, and risks. Ensure the solution remains effective against existing threats as well as proactively addresses new exploits.

  • Developing engineering standards and artifacts for certified products

  • Maintaining complete technical knowledge of the network.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience

  • Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • Strong expertise in SASE frameworks, SD-WAN, CASB, SWG, ZTNA, and cloud security.

  • Hands-on experience with network security, proxies, firewalls, VPNs, and identity & access management (IAM).

  • Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud-native security models.

  • Experience designing and implementing zero-trust architectures.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Experience in large-scale enterprise environments with complex security and networking requirements.

  • Prior experience leading digital transformation initiatives with a focus on cloud security and networking.

  • New technology development and testing experience

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to executives and stakeholders.

  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CCIE, AWS/Azure Security, or SASE-related certifications are a plus.

  • Self-motivated and forward-thinking

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
