What you'll be doing

You will be a technical expert in emerging technologies, helping develop complex solutions for Verizon customers. Your role includes providing knowledge of Verizon Wave and Dark Fiber offerings to Verizon Tier 1 Solution Architects and customers.

• Network Solutions Expertise: Advising, needs analysis, solution development, and network design for Verizon's Layer 1 solutions, including wave and dark fiber offerings.
• Technical Knowledge: Understanding networks involving optic switching, ROADM, and wavelengths.
• Strategic Contributions: Collaborating with product development and marketing to define strategy and roadmaps for fiber offerings.
• Design Authority: Serving as a technical design authority across regions and verticals.
• Sales Support: Developing client relationships, designing solutions, and supporting sales efforts through presentations and technical guidance.

Accountabilities

• Engaging with customers on complex business projects leveraging Verizon assets and partner ecosystems.
• Contributing to strategy and roadmap development with product teams.
• Developing expertise in the global markets for Verizon's fiber offerings.
• Creating standard architecture designs and templates to streamline sales and automation.
• Designing reliable, modern connectivity solutions aligned with customer business outcomes.
• Authoring technical documents, white papers, and blogs to support sales and customer understanding.
• Staying informed on regulatory changes and adapting architectures accordingly.
• Acting as a trusted advisor, providing strategic insights to clients.
• Supporting sales with technical presentations and demonstrations.
• Building deep customer relationships to design complex solutions.
• Partnering with sales teams to drive business results.

What we're looking for

You should have:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience, demonstrated through work, military, or training.

Preferred qualifications include:

• A degree.
• Experience with OTN standards, 400GBASE-LR4, IEEE standards.
• Experience in GenAI and prompt engineering.
• Knowledge of Core Networking and fiber optic network design.
• Strong communication skills, including presentation experience.
• Strategic, analytical thinking abilities, and project management skills.

Work Location & Benefits

This is a hybrid role with a mix of remote work and at least eight days per month in the office. The standard weekly hours are 40. Salary ranges from $155,000 to $270,000 annually, depending on location and experience.
