Job summary

Livefino seeks a Distillation Technician in Florida to assist in producing high quality cannabis distillate while maintaining clean, safe lab operations. You will winterize, isolate and purify cannabinoids using distillation and purification techniques under SOPs and regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities include operating short-path distillation, recording data, and collaborating with the Processing Lead to ensure quality and efficiency.

• Maintain communication with processing leadership to meet operational needs and resolve issues proactively.
• Process oil into high quality cannabis distillate using short-path distillation.
• Include techniques such as winterization, filtration, extraction, separation, and distillation.
• Set up, operate, and tend to equipment and instruments per SOPs.
• Physically operate the system and perform short path distillation.
• Understand and perform tasks using fundamentals of chemistry: extraction, separation, filtration, distillation.
• Accurately measure and weigh ingredients using English or metric units and balance scales.
• Perform equipment maintenance and safety checks per manufacturer specs.
• Observe equipment for malfunctions and report to Processing Lead.
• Keep production space organized, clean, and sanitary.
• Log and track pertinent information for each post-processing responsibility.
• Apply critical thinking to identify problems and suggest improvements.
• Collaborate with team to introduce new ideas and techniques.
• Stay updated on purification and distillation techniques via media.
• Follow safety protocols for machine operation and comply with regulatory requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Distillation Technician will assist with the production of high quality cannabis distillate along with cleaning and maintaining laboratory equipment, recording and entering data, and associated tasks. The Distillation Technician will be responsible for the consistent, sanitary, and safe production of oil-derived distillate utilizing company policies to successfully uphold the quality and consistency of all products produced. The individual has the responsibility of winterizing, isolating, and purifying cannabinoids using various distillation and purification techniques. Oversees the overall distillation process. Reports directly to the Processing Lead.

Security Clearance: Restricted Access Areas.

The Distillation Technician is primarily responsible for the order, cleanliness, and efficiency of formulation operations by performing labor work duties, including derivative product handling, formulation processes and facilities maintenance.

Essential/Primary Responsibilities:

• Regular communication with the processing leadership team is to be maintained to ensure all operational needs are met and any procedural problems are addressed and resolved proactively.
• Responsible for using various methods to process oil into high quality cannabis distillate utilizing short-path distillation.
• This includes, but is not limited to techniques involving winterization, filtration, extraction, separation, and distillation.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

• Set up, operate, and tend to equipment and various instruments according to SOPs.
• Physically operate the system and perform short path distillation.
• Understand and perform tasks utilizing fundamental principles in chemistry like extraction, separation, filtration, and distillation.
• Accurately measure and weigh ingredients, using English or metric measures, and be familiar with using and balancing scales.
• Perform all necessary equipment maintenance and safety checks in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
• Observe and listen to equipment to detect possible malfunctions, such as leaks or fractures, and report malfunctions to Processing Lead.
• Ensure that the production space is organized, clean, and sanitary throughout daily operations.
• Log and track all pertinent information for each post processing responsibility.
• Use critical thinking and deductive reasoning to identify and analyze problems, and come up with creative solutions.
• Work collectively with other team members to come up with novel ideas and techniques to improve current processes.
• Stay up to date with cutting edge purification and distillation techniques through various digital and print media.
• Exercise extreme caution and attention to detail around the scientific glassware to prevent breakage.
• Follow all safety protocols put into place for machine operation every time.
• Fully comply with the Office of Medical Marijuana Use regulations at all times.
• Perform other official duties as assigned.
