Job summary

Evonik Corporation in Calvert City, KY seeks a Production Engineer for distillation to oversee daily column operations and drive process improvements. You will manage procedures, troubleshoot, train operators, and develop control systems to reduce variability while supporting safety and reliability goals.

The role partners with supply chain and warehouse teams to align production with demand, improve energy efficiency, and transition toward automation.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering required.
3–5 years industrial experience in PSM plant.
Willingness to learn and manage change.
Strong problem-solving and data interpretation skills.
Ability to lead training and develop curriculums.

Responsibilities

Manages and directs the day-to-day operation of distillation columns in the Acetylenics plant.
Analyzes distillation process data and inputs from operators.
Develops distillation training curricula and coaching.
Monitors plant-wide material yields and energy consumption; seeks improvements.
Provides on-call plant coverage and assists in root cause investigations.
Translates production requirements into operating schedules with warehouse and supply chain.
Drives Evonik Production System improvements in distillation and related areas.
