Job summary

Minneapolis Public Schools is seeking a Distance Learning Instructional Lead for Adult Basic Education for the 2026-2027 year. The DL Coordinator will manage the distance learning program, enroll learners, and expand DL opportunities while supporting teachers and ensuring DL aligns with program goals.

This role supports day/evening staff across sites and trains classroom teachers in DL use. Responsibilities include coordinating DL strategy, developing program plans, and reporting progress to

Qualifications

• Valid MN teaching license (K12 or ABE).
• Comfortable with basic DL standards and instruction.
• Experience with online learning platforms and with students with low digital literacy skills.
• Experience with teaching, preferably adults.
• Experienced and comfortable with a diverse range of native-speaking and ELL students.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate efforts to expand distance learning (DL) programming.
• Provide leadership and professional development for teaching staff with DL opportunities.
• Track progress and proxy hours of students completing distance learning lessons.
• Communicate teacher implementation of DL to program leadership.
