Our District Support Pharmacists (DSPs) play a critical role in cultivating a culture of excellence within each pharmacy by acting as role models, demonstrating genuine care, and setting the bar for the pharmacy team. As a DSP, you support our pharmacy teams by covering pharmacist scheduling gaps, under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager (PM) and Rx District Leader (DL). You will work across stores in the district, supporting pharmacy management, oversight, and operations.

The DSP’s responsibilities include:

1. Living our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizations.
2. Traveling the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled, overseeing the pharmacy, and serving as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during shifts.
3. Supporting safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following pharmacy workflow procedures and safety protocols.
4. Assuming Pharmacy Manager’s duties when serving as the primary pharmacist-on-duty.
5. Contributing to positive patient experiences through empathy, collaboration, and proactive issue resolution.
6. Offering and delivering immunizations and supporting pharmacy technicians in immunization services.
7. Managing pharmacy inventory, focusing on protecting cold chain products and adherence to best practices.
8. Remaining flexible for scheduling and business needs, while fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging team environment.
9. Maintaining clinical and technical skills, seeking opportunities to expand knowledge.
10. Supporting access to care through pharmacist-delivered clinical services where permissible.
11. Understanding and complying with all relevant laws, regulations, standards, and CVS policies to ensure patient safety and a respectful workplace.
