Job summary

The Chicago School is seeking a Copy Editor to meticulously copy edit student dissertations to meet APA style and the school's formatting standards. You will check grammar, punctuation, and consistency while aligning documents with the APA Publication Manual.

Responsibilities include formatting margins, citations, tables, and appendices; ensuring references are correct; providing feedback to students and maintaining confidential records.

Qualifications

Master's degree in English or related field preferred; BA with relevant experience also considered.
Strong knowledge of English grammar and spelling; familiarity with APA style.
Excellent organizational, detail-oriented, and communication skills; able to work independently via email, phone, and video.

Responsibilities

Copy edit student dissertations for logic and consistency.
Correct grammar, spelling, syntax, format, style, and punctuation.
Format references and ensure correct citation per APA style.
Assist with margins, pagination, tables, figures, and appendices.
Maintain drafts, process, and progress records.
Respond to emails within 24 hours.
