Per Diem Dispensing Nurse – LPN/LVN

BAART Programs is seeking a detail-oriented and empathetic Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to dispense prescribed medications as part of a treatment team, collaborating with Physicians and Nursing Supervisors. The dispensing nurse is responsible for maintaining dispensing equipment, managing medication inventory, and reporting patient treatment information. The ideal candidate works cooperatively with counseling staff and demonstrates a non-judgmental attitude toward individuals with Substance Use Disorder.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Administer daily medication to patients per program policies and medical protocols, including Methadone and Suboxone.
• Operate automated dispensing systems, calibrate pumps, and maintain dispensing equipment.
• Maintain accurate records and reports as required by company policies and regulations.
• Ensure compliance with security standards for controlled substances as per federal regulations.
• Order, receive, and stock medication following DEA and state regulations (if granted Power of Attorney).
• Provide daily assessments of patients.
• Assist Nursing Supervisor in orienting new staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Current and valid LPN or LVN license in Nebraska.
• CPR certification.
• Proficiency in EMR and computer skills preferred.
• Experience in chemical dependency is preferred; candidate should be motivated, positive, and supportive of individuals in substance abuse treatment.
• Satisfactory drug screening and criminal background check.
