Position Summary

The Dispensing Clerk ensures accurate and timely medication delivery, supporting Empower’s mission to improve lives through innovative, affordable healthcare. This role focuses on inventory precision, quality control, and strict compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Retrieves items from storage areas or shelves following established procedures and inventory management systems.
  • Accurately counts, measures, or weighs items to ensure correct quantities are prepared for dispensing.
  • Reviews inventory levels regularly to identify and report medical supplies that require replenishment.
  • Performs visual inspections to detect damaged or defective items and notifies appropriate personnel for removal or replacement.
  • Maintains confidentiality and ensures compliance with the HIPAA by safeguarding protected health information.

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The employee is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
