Job summary

King City Gardens is seeking an Assistant General Manager to support the dispensary in Cincinnati, OH. This role drives regulatory adherence, operational excellence, and guest experience while coaching leaders and maintaining The Garden culture.

You will lead daily operations, manage KPIs, and collaborate with leadership to optimize inventory, scheduling, and financial performance. The AGM may act as GM as needed and plays a key role in strategy execution.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of retail leadership experience.
• Experience leading teams, coaching performance, and managing KPIs.
• Knowledge of POS systems and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with DCC regulations, SOPs, and security requirements; support METRC compliance and audits; maintain audit-ready docs.
• Retail Operations & Financial Performance: Lead daily store operations, manage scheduling and payroll accuracy; drive KPIs like AOV, UPT, loyalty, and customer service metrics.
• Team Leadership & Talent Development: Recruit, onboard, coach, and develop supervisors and staff; conduct evaluations and development planning; promote accountability.
• Guest Experience & Sales Excellence: Ensure compliant, educational, and welcoming guest experiences; resolve escalated concerns; coach on product knowledge and service standards.
• Business Analytics & Reporting: Review daily reports and KPIs; identify opportunties for improvement; communicate results to leadership.

Job Description:

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) is a key operational leader responsible for supporting the General Manager in all aspects of dispensary performance. This role drives operational excellence, regulatory compliance, financial performance, inventory integrity, and exceptional guest experiences while developing high-performing teams. The AGM serves as the acting General Manager when needed and plays a critical role in executing company initiatives, coaching leaders, and maintaining The Garden’s culture of accountability.

Responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with Ohio Division of Cannabis Control (DCC) regulations, company SOPs, and security requirements.
• Support METRC compliance, inventory controls, audits, and corrective action plans.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation and investigate operational discrepancies.

Retail Operations & Financial Performance

• Lead daily store operations and ensure efficient opening and closing procedures.
• Support labor management, scheduling, payroll accuracy, and productivity goals.
• Drive sales performance through key performance indicators (KPIs), including average order value (AOV), units per transaction (UPT), loyalty capture, and customer service metrics.

Team Leadership & Talent Development

• Recruit, onboard, coach, and develop supervisors and team members.
• Conduct one-on-one coaching, performance evaluations, and development planning.
• Promote accountability, recognition, and succession planning.

Guest Experience & Sales Excellence

• Ensure every guest receives a compliant, educational, and welcoming experience.
• Resolve escalated guest concerns professionally.
• Coach teams on product knowledge, sales behaviors, and service standards.

Business Analytics & Reporting

• Review daily operational reports and KPIs.
• Partner with leadership to identify opportunities for operational improvement.
• Communicate results and action plans effectively across the leadership team.

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Division of Cannabis Control Requirements

• Must be 21+, pass a background check, and obtain and maintain a DCC employee badge.
• Ability to meet background screening requirements consistent with Ohio cannabis industry standards.

• Full-time associates are eligible for health, vision, and dental plans after 30 days.
