Job summary

CEVA Logistics in Ohio is seeking a Dispatcher I to manage driver route assignments, ensuring DOT compliance and coordinating with drivers and import personnel. You will dispatch U.S. domestic pickups and deliveries while maintaining shipment information and documentation.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, with at least three years of related experience; CDL/class C license, forklift certification, DOT HazMat training, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage driver route assignments and ensure DOT compliance.
  • Coordinate with drivers, import personnel and maintain shipment information.
  • Dispatch drivers for U.S. domestic pickups and deliveries, adhering to policies.
  • Notify drivers of pickup and delivery assignments.
  • Maintain shipment information under Customs control documents.
  • Submit required paperwork to Import personnel in a timely manner.
  • Enter new data into the computer database and manage stored data.
  • Assist with loading/unloading freight and verify cargo labeling.

Pay Range: $21.41 - $26.76

YOUR ROLE

Manage driver route assignments, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations and internal policies. Coordinate with drivers, import personnel and maintain shipment information.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
  • Develop and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Dispatch drivers for U.S. domestic shipment pick‑ups and deliveries, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations and internal policies.
  • Notify drivers of pick‑up and delivery assignments.
  • Maintain shipment information under the Customs control document.
  • Ensure required paperwork is submitted timely to Import personnel.
  • Manage stored data and enter new data in the computer database.
  • Assist with shrink‑wrapping, loading and unloading freight, verifying labeling of domestic shipments and noting the count and condition of cargo received.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
  • Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED; minimum three years related experience. Minimum two years industry experience preferred. Knowledge of local geographic market.
  • Credentials: Valid state‑issued Class C Driver’s License. Forklift Certification. DOT Dangerous Goods/Hazardous Materials Certification. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate heaving machinery or equipment.
  • Skills: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web‑based and job‑specific software applications. Accurate typing and data entry skills. Arithmetic proficiency.
  • Characteristics: Demonstrated leadership ability. Ability to read, comprehend, and complete basic checklists, forms or related documents. Problem‑resolution skills and prompt professional response to customer needs.
