Job summary

Maersk Warehousing and Distribution USA LLC in the Baltimore area is seeking a driven dispatcher to schedule drivers for freight delivery and pickup, act as liaison between customers, drivers and management, and help ensure on-time shipments.

The role requires strong time management, knowledge of local traffic laws, and the ability to adapt routes quickly. We offer medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO, and flexible schedules where possible.

Responsibilities

• Schedule drivers to deliver freight or collect shipments and packages.

• Plan predetermined routes for drivers.
• Identify traffic issues and create corrective action plans.
• Prepare dispatch documents for management and others who need them.
• Maintain records of dispatch calls, routes, and delivery times.
• Monitor truck repairs and maintenance schedules.
• Log vendor complaints or concerns.
• Answer calls from vendors, customers, and management and assist as needed.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Maersk Warehousing and Distribution USA LLC handles end-to-end warehousing and distribution logistics needs utilizing our strategic network of storage facilities. Directly in charge of scheduling drivers to make deliveries and pick up packages from customers and vendors. Also work as a liaison between customers, drivers, and management.

1:00 PM – 9:30 PM (Sunday is closed) (Saturday & Monday are mandatory workdays)

Essential Functions:

• Scheduling drivers to make freight delivery or collect shipments and packages
• Communicating with customers and vendors about freight details, pickup and drop-off times, and special requests
• Planning predetermined routes for drivers
• Identifying traffic problems and issues and creating appropriate corrective action plans to achieve desirable results on time.
• Preparing general dispatch documents for management, as well as pulling any documents that employees, customers, or vendors will need
• Maintain a record of all dispatch calls, driver routes, route changes, as well as delivery and pick-up times
• Monitoring truck repairs and maintenance schedules
• Logging vendor complaints or concerns
• Answering phone calls from vendors, customers, and management and helping them as needed.
• Other duties as requested

Pay Range:

$21.50 - $22.50 per hour

*The above-stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
