Job summary

The School District of Indian River County is seeking a transportation coordinator to support safe and efficient district transportation operations. You will dispatch drivers and vehicles, maintain communication systems, and assist with routing and transportation software.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, 3 years of school bus driving/transportation routing experience, and proficiency with two-way radios. This role is non-exempt with grade 10 pay and regular workdays.

Description:

Knowledge of county geography and roads. Knowledge of Federal Communications Commission (FCC) communication codes preferred. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to communicate effectively with administrators, bus drivers, school staff and parents. Ability to work effectively with school system staff and parents. Ability to troubleshoot problems and implement corrective action. Knowledge of office procedures and practices. Ability to maintain accurate records. Basic computer skills. Ability to handle emergency situations.

Job Summary:

Qualifications:

• (1) High school diploma or equivalent.
• (2) Three (3) years experience driving a school bus and in transportation routing.
• (3) Experience in the use of a two-way radio.
• (4) Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screening.

Salary Information:

Support Personnel. Pay Grade 10. Two hundred fifty days worked per year (12 months). FLSA Non-Exempt.
