Job summary

Midland Farms, Inc. is seeking a reliable Dispatcher to act as a communication hub for emergency and non-emergency calls.

You will supervise and monitor scheduled deliveries for the transportation department, serving as the central contact for truck drivers and the warehouse to ensure on-time deliveries and effective issue resolution. You will track trailer GPS, prioritize routes, provide drivers with traffic updates, adjust orders in the system, and print tickets for customers.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years proven experience as dispatcher or relevant position.
• 2+ years of warehouse experience in transportation setting.
• Experience in data entry and basic computer knowledge.
• Proficient in English (verbal and written).
• Outstanding organizational and multitasking skills.
• Active listener with excellent communication skills.
• Sound judgement and critical thinking skills.
• High school diploma.
• Work overnight shift and weekend availability as needed.

Responsibilities

• Receive emergency and non-emergency calls and record significant information from drivers and plant personnel.
• Address problems and requests by transmitting information or providing solutions to plant personnel and divers throughout your shift.
• Monitor GPS of trailers and tractors within our fleet, coordinate and prioritize returns to the plant.
• Ensure drivers are dispatched on time for their deliveries.
• Prioritize calls by urgency and importance.
• Use phone/computer to coordinate trailer returns and communicate with drivers.
• Provide drivers with information about highway conditions and requirements.
• Adjust orders in the system and print tickets for customers.
• May perform other responsibilities as needed.

We are looking for a reliable Dispatcher to act as a communication point for emergency and non-emergency calls. You will supervise and monitor scheduled deliveries for the transportation department. You will serve as a central contact point for both truck drivers and the warehouse, to help ensure successful delivery to the customer. Will also monitor trucks and drivers once they’re enroute, and they help if an issue arises with a pickup or delivery.

• Receive emergency and non-emergency calls and record significant information from our drivers and plant personal.
• Address problems and requests by transmitting information or provide solutions to plant personal and divers throughout your assigned shift.
• Monitor the GPS of trailers and tractors within our fleet, including monitoring the route and status of field units, and to coordinate and prioritize their whereabouts and return position to the plant.
• Ensure drivers are dispatched are on time for their scheduled deliveries.
• Prioritize calls according to urgency and importance.
• Use phone and/or computer to ensure drivers communicate trailer returns such as the number of empty cases returning to the plant.
• Provide drivers with information about highway conditions, traffic, obstacles, and requirements.
• Adjust orders in the system and print tickets for customers.
• May be asked to perform other responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

• 1 - 2 years proven experience as dispatcher or relevant position.
• 2+ years of warehouse experience (preferably in a transportation setting such as distribution center, freight forwarder, or shipping company)
• Experience in data entry, along with basic computer knowledge.
• Knowledge of procedures and guidelines for emergency response.
• Proficient in English (verbal and written)
