Job description

DISPATCHER

Automation Personnel Services is seeking a logistics Dispatcher for a company located in Mobile, AL. In this position you will ensure pickups and deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and on time while maintaining a high level of customer service. The Dispatcher works closely with sales personnel, drivers, warehouse staff, work crews, supervisors, and customers to communicate schedules, respond to changing conditions, resolve scheduling or routing conflicts, and provide accurate shipment and delivery information.

Pay Rate

$20.00 to $22.00 per hour – Depending on Experience

Schedule and Hours

Monday – Friday
7AM to 5PM

Dispatcher Duties and Responsibilities

• Establish delivery routes which are cost effective and compliant with Federal DOT guidelines while still maintaining an acceptable level of customer service, quality and satisfaction
• Speaking with supervisor or customers to resolve problems, requests for services or equipment
• Track weather delays, site conditions, and other impacts to schedules
• Responsible for calculating routes and times of deliveries and making the necessary adjustments for sales and customers
• Keeping and organizing work requests, customer requests, completed work requests, charges for work performed, expenses for services performed, inventory records and other information.
• Support customer communication by providing realistic timelines and updates

Dispatcher Qualifications and Requirements

• Excellent communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software
• Excellent clerical and organizational skills to keep track of schedules, routes and personnel
• Ability to multitask and communicate with different events happening at the same time
• Drug screen and Criminal Background check

Dispatcher Physical Requirements

• Moderate noise levels
• Occupation requires being sedentary greater than or equal to 80% of the time
• Work involves sitting, standing, hearing, talking, handling, reaching outward, reaching above shoulder, walking, squatting or kneeling and bending
