Job summary

Bachman’s Inc. is seeking a Dispatcher for a union role in Minnesota. The position involves coordinating daily delivery routes, reviewing runs in DDS, and working with the fleet manager on maintenance and peak-period vehicle coordination.

The ideal candidate has at least 6 months of dispatching experience, reads and writes English, and can read and use computer systems. A Class B license is preferred, with comprehensive benefits and a scheduling pattern including Monday–Saturday hours.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily package delivery routes to establish run sheets
• Review delivery runs in DDS and follow up as necessary
• Coordinate preventative maintenance with fleet manager for delivery vehicles
• Coordinate Bachman and rental vehicles during peak periods
• Provide work direction to drivers
• Answer phones and respond to emails providing internal customer service
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Attendance is an essential function of this position

Union Position

POSITION DUTIES:

• Coordinate daily package delivery routes to establish run sheets. Help pullpackages for established routes.
• Review delivery runs in DDS and follow up as necessary.
• Work with fleet manager and maintenance team to coordinate preventative maintenance on package delivery vehicles.
• Work with fleet manager to coordinate Bachman and rental vehicles during peak periods.
• Provide work direction to Drivers.
• Be available as the main point of contact by answering phones and responding to emails. Provide excellent internal customer service.
• Perform other duties and assist in other areas as assigned.
• Attendance is an essential function of this position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma preferred

• Class B license preferred

• Must be accepted as insurable with Bachman’s Insurance carrier considering a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) and Bachman’s Safe Driving Standards

• Must have 6 months dispatching experience

• Must have working knowledge of computer systems

• Able to read, write, and speak English

• Demonstrated ability to understand, communicate, and provide customer service to customers and other departments, including on the phone

• Must be able to teach and train delivery personnel

• Must be able to move and/or lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis and up to 100lbs on an occasional basis

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time

Scheduled Hours:

• Monday – Saturday, weekends during peak times
