Position Summary
Schedule and coordinate all deliveries. Oversee routes, deliveries, laborer and processes required to ensure successful on-time deliveries to customers
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Operations / Customer Service
- Respond to customer inquiries, questions, and resolve logistic concerns
- Organize the flow of paperwork to ensure customer deliveries and returns are safely completed as promised to the customer
- Coordinate deliveries to maximize use of fleet, minimize waste and meet commitments to customers
- Communicate routinely with salespeople, operations personnel and customers
- Monitor and respond to inquiries using phone, e-mail, text message, etc.
- Direct and document the transfer of inventory between sites
- Maintain accurate and timely information in DDMS program
- Utilize and understand BisTrack program
- Input orders
- Access inventory information
- Track customer history
Safety
- Provide for a safe work environment
- Support wellness and safety programs
- Documents and assist Operations Manager with investigating all safety incidents and injuries
- Ensuring that drivers do not exceed limits established by Federal regulation and DOT (e.g., 60 hour rule)
- Ensure required vehicle inspections are thoughtfully completed by Drivers; ensure timely and accurate reporting of any and all maintenance issues.
- Ensures that drivers comply with physicals, drug or alcohol tests, and training required by DOT and Federal regulations
Leadership/Administration
- Communicate effectively with direct reports including expectations, directions, work assignments, performance feedback, scheduling time off, behavior, complaints, pay changes and job responsibilities.
- Communicate regularly with your Operations Manager to address concerns or updates regarding personnel, equipment, inventory and other needs.
- Advocate and respond proactively to employee needs and concerns
- Work with standards that are aligned with company goals
QualificationsEXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of customer service; prefer experience in lumber industry
- Familiar with the layout of the Twin Cities & surrounding areas
- 5 years of management or leaderships experience preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Working knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
- Strong focus on safety
- General knowledge of building materials and related products
- General understanding of the construction process and sequence of deliveries
- Ability to obtain information and prioritize the response
- Ability to work under pressure, exercise good judgment and make sound decisions
- Excellent organization, planning and time management skills with the ability to multi-task
- Ability to accurately recall, identify, and categorize information
- Knowledge in: Microsoft Office, Outlook, DDS, BisTrack
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain excellent performance and attendance record
- Willing to work extended hours when needed

- Capability of handling high levels of pressure and stress
- Stand / Sit for extended periods of time
- Occasional lifting 20 – 25 lbs

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
- Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
