Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Dispatch Specialist in Michigan to maintain clear, proactive communication with drivers and customers, document issues, and help keep loads moving on time.

You will perform essential AS-400 functions, use MS Office, and monitor fleet activity, with a focus on accuracy, follow-through, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment. The role requires FMCSR knowledge, US/Canada geography awareness, and at least a high school diploma; typing 25 wpm is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Facilitate professional communication with our drivers over the phone and AS-400 systems.

• Perform regular fleet scans to proactively catch and correct issues.
• Ensure a high level of on-time service is maintained.

Weekend Day Shift: Rotating Days (6:00 AM - 6:30 PM) Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday. Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday.

As the Dispatch Specialist, you will be responsible for direct, effective and friendly communication with our drivers, and communicating issues both internally and externally. What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Facilitate professional communication with our drivers over the phone and On Board Computer System (OBCS)
• Perform essential AS-400 functions to maintain our computer systems
• Communicate issues with our internal and external customers
• Complete thorough documentation of all issues involving drivers and loads
• Perform regular, thorough fleet scans to proactively catch and correct issues
• Ensure a high level of on-time service is maintained

What you need to succeed at GXO: At a minimum, you’ll need:

• Knowledge of the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulations (FMCSR) and U.S. and Canadian geography
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and AS-400
• The ability to type 25 words per minute

It’d be great if you also have:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Transportation and call center/customer service experience
• Solid attention to detail and follow-up skills with the ability to identify and resolve problems
• The motivation to work well with minimal supervision or in a team environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a willingness to work collaboratively and get along with diverse personalities
• Solid organizational, project and time management skills with the ability to multitask and manage customer expectations
