Job summary

LKQ Corporation seeks a Dispatch Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of the Dispatch Department. You will schedule drivers, prioritize urgent tickets, and ensure on-time parts delivery while maintaining DOT compliance.

You will coach staff, communicate with customers, and monitor KPI metrics using Route Optimization tools. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of senior dispatch or supervisor experience, strong Excel/Outlook skills, and the ability to interpret reports and drive continuous

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required with relevant experience.
  • Minimum 5 years in a supervisory/lead role in dispatch or logistics.
  • Ability to read and interpret reports and schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule drivers on routes daily and manage on-time delivery performance.
  • Lead, coach and develop dispatch staff; monitor performance and discipline when needed.

Apply now and take the first step toward a rewarding career!Responsible for performing the day-to-day activities of the Dispatch Department in accordance with current federal, state/Provincial, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing this facility. The Dispatch Manager will participate with and be directed by the General Manager or Operations Manager to ensure the Dispatch Department is run in a safe, efficient, and proper manner.Essential Job DutiesSchedule drivers on routes daily. Prioritize and expedite rush or problem tickets that need immediate attention. Handle any issues with pick tickets (FSI, RCE and PLRC) or parts that did not get delivered on time (ETA).Assign and manifest route drivers daily; be available as a back-up delivery person, if needed. Continuously recruit, providing performance feedback and coaching route personnel.Communicate with internal and external customers.Operate and interpret reports with Route Optimization or Roadnet system (Parts per hour and Parts Handled KPI's).Monitor Fuel reports for loss prevention.Manage time off requests and Kronos including pay period signature sheets. Schedule maintenance on vehicles and or break downs with mechanic(s).Sign off on bills for maintenance and schedule rentals when/if needed.Ensure we are compliant with drivers and paperwork for LKQ and DOT. Handle discipline issues and any drivers under probation because of their MVR and LKQ points.Ensure the vehicle Pre and Post checklist is turned in each day.Ensure new hire paperwork for driver (s) and training including LKQU, ISO and DOT is complete.Maintain, organize and keep current driver phones or other communication devices as needed.Handle or delegate getting vehicle tags, Gas pins, vehicle keys, DOT inspection, emission inspections and DOT physicals. Filing (vehicle records, signed time sheets, PTO, etc).Assume other duties as assigned.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesManage the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling and reviewing work, ensures quality standards. Responsible for hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance and administering corrective action for staff.Minimum RequirementsEducation & ExperienceHigh School Diploma/GED.5 years+ in specialized profession or equivalent; Proficient in specialty including prior senior lead / supervisor experience. Preferred RequirementsNo preferred requirements. Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs.Frequent use of Outlook, Word, Excel, graphics, etc. Ability to create, maintain and incorporate functions into Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, databases, and Powerpoint presentations to support business objectives.Frequently communicates complex information across departments and interacts with management. Can present, resolve and address delicate situations. Can motivate and persuade others.Problems are varied and complex, requiring analysis or interpretation of the situation. Problems are solved using knowledge and skills, general precedents and practices.Decisions impact the management and operations within a department or business unit.
