Job summary

Qualifications

• General knowledge of grammar, punctuation, spelling, capitalization, and sentence structure.
• General arithmetic skills including basic operations, fractions, decimals.
• Clerical functions at a technical support level in an office.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing with diverse people.
• Organize work efficiently and exercise independent judgment on priorities.
• Apply specific rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to work.
• Typing proficiency.
• Operate typical office equipment and dispatch-related devices.
• Learn and work within agency operations and policies.
• Review technical forms for compliance with criteria.
• Gather and organize information and prepare reports.

Responsibilities

• Receives and screens calls; determines response or referral.
• Gathers information and coordinates with appropriate personnel.
• Maintains control records of information and dispatches service requests.
• Monitors status of assigned work and maintains logs and statistics.
• Coordinates communications between staff, field personnel, customers, and the public.
• Operates dispatch computer systems and related equipment.
• Develops and revises procedures for dispatch functions.
