Job summary

Responsibilities include optimizing routes, monitoring loads via GPS/telematics, maintaining records, and coordinating with maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years dispatch, logistics, or transportation coordination experience.
• Knowledge of California and federal DOT/FMCSA regulations, including hours-of-service.
• Proficiency with dispatch software, GPS/telematics, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong verbal and written communication, multitasking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, route, and dispatch drivers and vehicles to meet deadlines.
• Monitor driver locations, loads, and delivery status via dispatch software.
• Serve as primary communication link between drivers, customers, warehouse, and management.
• Respond to delays by rerouting and reassigning loads as needed.
• Ensure compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations, including hours-of-service.
• Maintain records of dispatch activity, deliveries, driver hours, and load documents.
• Coordinate with maintenance for vehicle servicing.
• Document freight discrepancies and customer concerns and escalate as needed.
