Job summary

White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad seeks Rail Traffic Controllers (RTC) to oversee safe on-track movements within the rail corridor. RTCs issue authorities, coordinate track work, and plan meets to minimize delays and maximize through-put from a Dispatch Center workstation.

Candidates must pass background checks, be authorized to work in the U.S., and be willing to travel to Canada. Roles include seasonal hourly or permanent salary positions, with extensive radio and computer usage and

Qualifications

• High school diploma and valid driver’s license. Prior railway or safety-sensitive experience preferred.
• Must be computer literate; proficient with Word and Excel; type at least 30 words per minute.
• Excellent verbal comprehension and clear written/radio/telephone communication are required.
• Ability to analyze, prioritize tasks, and perform basic math as part of daily duties.

Responsibilities

• Duties include irregular shifts; weekends, holidays, and evenings may be required.
• Work primarily at a desktop workstation with radio and computer systems.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to travel to Canada.
• Positions available as seasonal hourly or permanent salary roles.
• Must pass pre-employment drug test and background check.
