Job summary

Walt Disney Imagineering in Orlando, FL offers an internship as a Character Interaction Designer within Disney Live Entertainment. You will help bring interactive character experiences to life by developing gestures, programming show files, and managing audio assets, while creating training materials and presentations.

This paid internship runs January 2027 to June 2027. Candidates should be enrolled in college, be at least 18, and able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Conduct show file testing to ensure quality, accuracy, and functionality

The approximate date of this internship is January 2027 to June 2027, located in Orlando, FL

The Character Interaction Designer helps bring interactive character experiences to life by developing gestures, programming show files, and managing audio assets. Working closely with creative teams, this role creates training materials and presentations, tests interactive content, and helps ensure every experience is engaging and performs as intended.

What You Will Do:

Education:
  • Major or have previous coursework in Theatre, Digital Media, Graphic or Web Design, or Creative Writing
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all the requirements below:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university, taking at least one class at the time of application posting, OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and have the ability to operate a company vehicle
  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program
  • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
Additional Information
  • Be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines
  • Able to provide reliable transportation to/from work
  • Must be fully available for the duration of the internship
