Job summary

The City of Arvada is seeking a dishwasher to maintain cleanliness of dishes, glassware and kitchen equipment in a fast-paced setting. You will use dishwashers or hand wash to ensure sanitation standards are met, and keep the dishwashing area clean and organized.

Hours may include evenings, weekends and holidays. The ideal candidate has a High School diploma or GED and prior kitchen or dishwashing experience is preferred.

Starting salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity. The range listed reflects the entire range and typical placement is entry to mid range. Pay Rate - $15.16/hr

Position Purpose

The Dishwasher plays a vital role in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen by ensuring all dishes, glassware, utensils, and kitchen equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized.

Essential Job Functions

• Washes dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans using dishwasher or by hand.
• Ensures all kitchen equipment and dishes are cleaned to health and safety standards.
• Maintains cleanliness of dishwashing area, including floors, counters, and sinks.
• Disposes of trash and recycling properly.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to follow sanitation and safety procedures.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Education

Degree: High School/GED. Education Required.

Work Experience

Preferred: Prior experience in a kitchen or dishwashing role.

Other Qualifications

Must be age 18 or older.

Physical Demands

Light to moderate physical effort that includes frequent standing or walking or maintaining arms and hands in the same position for repetitive tasks. Frequently works with light objects and light hand tools.

Hazards

Occasional hazards that are predictable or well protected against (Hazardous waste, ladders, cleaning supplies, trips and falls.

Work Environment

Exposure to loud noise indoors.
