Job summary

Cardinal Bay is seeking a part-time Dishwasher/Utility Worker at Carriage Inn Katy to support our residents and kitchen team in a compassionate, timely manner.

You will operate the dish machine, keep the dish area clean, and assist with maintaining a steady supply of clean tableware for dining and kitchen use. The role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and adherence to safety standards in a care-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate dish machine safely.
• Accredited food handler within 60 days.
• HS Diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load, run and unload dish machine.
• Keep the dish machine clean and report any problems.
• Monitor water temperature for sanitary wash cycle.
• Wash and store all tableware and kitchenware.
• Keep the dish room clean and organized.
• Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchen.
• Bag and haul dish room trash to dumpster at designated times.
• Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage.
• Maintain adequate levels of detergents and cleaning supplies.
• Clean food prep and production areas as required.

Shifts:

• 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
• Holiday & weekend shifts on rotation

• Wash and store all tableware and kitchenware.
• Keep the dish room clean and organized.

• Bag and haul dish room trash to dumpster at designated times.
• Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss.
• Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies.
• Clean food preparation and production areas as required.

Requirements:

• Ability to communicate effectively with residents and colleagues.
• Must be or become within 60 days an accredited food handler per State guidelines.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Be able to work in hot, wet, humid, and loud environments for long periods of time.
• Great customer service attitude
• Ability to interact well with staff, residents, and guests
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Able to work independently or work with others in the completion of assigned tasks.
• Ability to speak, read & write English.
• Must be willing to undergo a routine background check.
