Job summary

AgeWell Solvere Living is seeking a Community Utility Associate to perform dishwashing and general kitchen cleaning tasks in a care community. The role supports food service operations, maintains sanitary conditions, and helps with basic kitchen duties.

The position is full-time, hourly, with benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, PTO and holidays, plus a 401(k) with company match. Weekend shifts may be required based on staffing needs.

Qualifications

• Some kitchen experience is desirable.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Must have organizational and time management skills.
• Demonstrates good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Physically able to bend and reach.
• Physically able to push and pull and lift up to 40-50 pounds if necessary.
• Physically able to stand for extended periods of time.
• May be required to work weekends and holidays as assigned.
• May be required to work on shifts other than the one for which hired.
• May be required to work extended hours (up to 16 hours per day).
• May be subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including HIV, AIDS, and Hepatitis B and C viruses.
• Could be subject to hostile and emotionally upset Residents due to mental status.

Responsibilities

• Maintains clean and sanitary kitchen and dining areas.
• Washes dishes, pots, and pans; operates dishwashing equipment.
• Assists with food preparation and stocking shelves as needed.
• Follows posted work schedule and arrives on time.
• Maintains safety practices and reports injuries immediately.
• Communicates effectively with supervisors and staff.

The Community UtilityAssociate performs a variety of food service functions in maintaining clean andsanitary conditions of Community food services, facilities, and equipment.He/she is responsible for washing dishes, washing pots and pans , general and equipmentcleaning, storage and rotation of food and supplies as well as the removal of all garbage; leaving machinery empty, clean, and dry;and keeping floors clean after each meal.

Responsibilities :

• Follows the posted work schedule andarrives on time and in appropriate work attire.
• Responsible for the proper washing ofchina, flatware, glassware, and other kitchen equipment including machine rinsepressure and water temperature.
• Responsible for maintaining thekitchen and other assigned areas in a sanitary condition.
• Establishes and maintainsconstructive working relationships with other kitchen personnel and residents.
• Must be familiar with food-handlingprocedures and regulations.
• Must know how to operate kitchenappliances such as garbage disposal, microwave, coffee maker, and ice machine.
• May be required to help with foodpreparation, inventory, and maintenance as well as food deliveries and stockingshelves.
• Follow all emergency procedures.
• Understands all safety practices andprocedures.
• Reports on-the-job injuries to theCommunity Cook and/or Food & Beverage Director before the end of the workshift on the day the injury occurs.
• Communicates effectively with Food& Beverage Director and other staff.
• Advises Food & Beverage Directorof any changes in physical or mental health of a resident immediately.
• Maintains an acceptableattendance record, notifies Food & Beverage Director if he/she expectsto be late or unable to work in accordance with personnel policies, andfollows work schedule.
