Job description

PURPOSE OF YOUR POSITION

The primary purpose of your job position is to perform a variety of routine tasks within the Dietary Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, to assure a successful dietary program is always maintained.

Full-time position 6:00am - 2:30pm - Every Other Weekend required

Pay Range: $15.25 - $17.25/hr. - Bi-weekly pay

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Assure that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  2. Perform dishwashing/cleaning procedures.
  3. Carry soiled utensils to wash area.
  4. Return clean utensils to proper storage areas.
  5. Wash and clean utensils as directed.
  6. Assist in serving meals on the nursing units and dining rooms as needed.
  7. Assist nursing units with mealtimes when needing extra food, drinks, dinnerware, condiments, etc.
  8. Assist in daily cleaning duties in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  9. Clean work tables, meat blocks, refrigerators/freezers, etc.
  10. Keep work area clean, dry, and free of hazardous equipment, supplies, etc.
  11. Sweep and mop floors as directed.
  12. Carry out garbage to designated areas.
  13. Receive, put away, and distribute incoming stock deliveries on a bi-weekly basis (Stockman only).
  14. Attend and participate in mandatory in‑services and training programs.
QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Must possess and maintain an approved Food Handlers Course Certificate.
  2. Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English in an understandable manner and be able to follow oral and written instructions.
  3. Must be able to deal tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
  4. Must possess leadership ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with staff.
  5. Must be able to develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter‑department personnel, as well as other departments within the facility to assure that food service can be properly maintained to meet the needs of the residents.
  6. Must create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the department.
  7. Must be able to lift loads in excess of 25 lbs. and perform a variety of physical requirements including balancing, crouching, fingering, grasping, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and twisting. Job requires repetitive movements and standing for long periods of time.
