Dishwasher/Steward

Description

As Dishwasher/Steward, you'll keep the kitchen clean, sanitized, and running safely — the behind-the-scenes work that makes every service possible.

Key Responsibilities

• Scrapes and rinses food from dirty dishes, washing by hand or loading racks/conveyor to the dishwashing machine, ensuring complete cleanliness and sanitation
• Washes pots, pans, and trays according to assigned procedures
• Polishes silver using burnishing machines, chemical dip, buffing wheel, or hand cloth as assigned
• Maintains temperatures and chemical levels per provided standards
• Keeps the dish area orderly and in compliance with safety standards
• Sweeps and mops kitchen floors to maintain safety and sanitation compliance
• Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food prep surfaces
• Removes trash to designated containers, and steam cleans or hoses out garbage cans
• Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas, assisting with loading and unloading deliveries
• Assists in breaking down delivery boxes

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically active kitchen environment
• Strong attention to cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards
• Reliable and able to work as part of a team
• Prior kitchen or dishwashing experience helpful but not required
