Pelican Landing Community Association Inc is seeking a part-time Dishwasher/Server to support the culinary team in Sebastian, FL. You will assist with sanitation, food preparation, and daily dining operations to help residents enjoy high-quality meals.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and some professional food service experience. On-demand pay and growth opportunities exist within a faith-driven, mission-centered community.

• Clean kitchen and dining areas; assist with prep as assigned.

• Clean floor drains as scheduled or needed.
• Report equipment or supply needs to Cook or Chef.
• Use equipment safely and follow cleaning procedures.
• Wear uniform and be resident-ready at all times.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• General duties include but are not limited to: cleaning, mopping, sweeping, garbage removal, and dusting kitchen and dining room, and food prep as assigned.
• Wash and ensuring dishes, pots and pans, and utensils are at the highest standards of cleanliness
• Cleans dishwasher machine inside and out after each shift
• Maintains a neat appearance of working areas and cleaning equipment storage areas
• Cleans floor drains as scheduled and as needed
• Reports to the Cook or Executive Chef any equipment and supplies that are needed
• Ensures the proper use of equipment and supplies and upholds cleaning and safety standards
• Must be in company uniform and resident ready at all times

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Graduate or equivalent

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience in professional food service is preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this position:
• Able to stand or walk 75% of the day
• Able to concentrate with frequent interruptions
• Able to work under stress and in emergency situations
• Able to work under conditions that require sitting, standing, walking, reaching, pulling, pushing, and grasping
• Able to talk and hear effectively in order to convey instructions and information to residents and team members
• Occasionally lift/carry up to 50 pounds

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE / PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:

• Work in all areas of the community
• Subject to reactions from dust, disinfectants and cleaning chemicals and may be exposed to infectious waste, diseases and other conditions
• Use personal protective equipment and supplies when needed to prevent burns, falls, and infection
• Personal protective equipment includes infection control kit, rubber gloves and non-slip shoes
• This position is exposed to very hot water, hot oven temperatures, sharp knives and utensils, and broken glass, slippery wet floors and other ordinary kitchen environmental risks, requirements for personal protective equipment are apron, hair net, chef’s hat and coat, rubber gloves, hot pads, non-slip shoes, short sleeves
• Subject to infectious diseases, substances and odors
